CUT 72 is the latest chapter in the on-going creative exploits of Gary Cut - one of Wales' most innovative and enigmatic underground musicians and multimedia artists. Widely regarded as the Godfather of the Welsh Industrial Music scene he pioneered both the Industrial Metal and Industrial Electronica scenes in Wales during the late 80s/early 90s with his original band, the legendary CUT TUNES.

The mid-90s to the start of the new millennium saw him collaborating on a new project - CUT 23 - with cult Welsh producer and musician Dewi Evans (Rheinallt H. Rowlands) which culminated in the critically-acclaimed album Metal Ghosts, released in 2002.

As both a musician and visual artist Gary has constantly pushed boundaries and challenged conventions. A graduate of Liverpool Art College, he has also established a reputation for himself as an accomplished photographer and designer. He has worked for a number of major clients over the years and his unique and atmospheric portrait photography has been exhibited as far afield as Liverpool, Beijing, Berlin and his home town of Bangor, North Wales.

CUT 72 not only sees Gary continuing to produce his trademark Dark Electronica coupled with huge Industrial rhythms, vicious synths and haunting vocals, but also sees him returning to his creative roots. 2009 saw the release of Insane Asylum, a dark and menacing album in collaboration with Kenji Siratori - cult Japanese Cyberpunk writer and leader of the Bizzarro literary movement - who can count David Bowie amongst his biggest fans. Kicking off 2011 is the release of a special 25th anniversary reworking of the classic debut CUT TUNES release Shapeshake. Also in production for 2011 are a series of powerful dark soundscape and multimedia projects and in addition to this Gary is also creating an on-going series of videos and experimental films which will culminate in his first full-length feature film scheduled for production in 2012.

In his spare time Gary is the North Wales correspondent for top UK music magazine The Fly.
